36 years later, Tim Burton‘s legendary film will have a continuation that brings back the original cast: Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Michael Keaton and Monica Bellucci. But they won’t be alone; Jenna Ortega will take on the lead role as Astrid Deetz.

What will Beetlejuice Beetlejuice be about?

The plot of Beetlejuice 2 has not been confirmed yet, but some details related to a few key characters have been revealed. The story will include a rebellious teenager, Astrid Deetz, who is the daughter of Lydia (played by Winona Ryder in the original film).

Once again, the plot will involve the young girl interacting with the world of the dead, summoning the appearance of a whimsical being that shows up when its name is called three times in a row.

According to QQ, she will likely encounter Beetlejuice while investigating the paranormal world, providing the ghost with a new opportunity to break free and achieve what he couldn’t in the first part, where he even attempted to marry Lydia.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the co-creators of Wednesday, are in charge of the script, promising a mix of humor and a dark, gothic setting in the style of Burton. Several new characters will contribute to enhancing the story and making it more contemporary. Willem Dafoe is one of the recent additions and will portray a police officer.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the star of Poor Things confessed, “I play a police officer in the afterlife, so I am a dead person. And in life, I was a B-movie action star, but I had an accident, and that’s what sent me to the other side”.
