Caddo Lake” is the new dramatic thriller starring Dylan O’Brien that has just arrived on the Max catalog, quickly becoming the most-watched movie in the United States, only one day after its release.

The story combines elements of mystery, time travel and suspense, focusing on a broken family that is reshaped when the disappearance of an 8-year-old girl at Caddo Lake is linked to previous deaths and disappearances.

Where was Caddo Lake shot?

“Caddo Lake” is based on a real landscape, so the main filming took place at the actual lake, which is located in East Texas. The scenes were filmed in Karnack and its surroundings.

The recording occurred in the fall of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, a strategic decision to avoid mosquito season and achieve specific weather conditions that were important for the movie‘s plot.

The production faced unique challenges due to the lake’s environment, such as navigating small boats and dealing with mud, which contributed to the film’s authentic and immersive experience.

Warner Bros. mentioned that the drama was inspired after filmmakers Celine Held and Logan George found a picture of the real lake online. Thanks to the title, the film has garnered hundreds of extra views.
