After the success of the two first seasons of “Euphoria,” many of its cast members have become big stars: Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer… However, a fan-favorite actress, Alexa Demie, wasn’t as booked as the others, with some outlets, such as the Spanish El Pais, wondering what happened to her career… Well, she is now headed back to the screen with a new HBO series.
The new show is a dark comedy titled “Fantasmas” (Ghosts in English), and it is created, directed and starred by Julio Torres. He is known for appearing in “Problemista” and “Los Espokys.” In truth, the press release for the series says she will be a guest star but fans on X (formerly Twitter) have been already starting to rave about her appearance.
Demie, who plays Maddie Perez in “Euphoria,” has also appeared in movies such as “Mainstream” (2020) and “Waves” (2019), as well as a small cameo in “The Ido.” With “Fantasmas,” she will add another title to her credits, and here’s all you need to know.

According to the official logline, the story follows Julio who, in his search for a lost gold oyster earring, reflects on the offbeat characters he encounters in introspective, often eerie, and always comedic vignettes set in a dreamy, alternate version of New York City. The series is also described as a “kaleidoscope of color and surrealism,” which will tell “stories of people looking for meaning, purpose, and connection in an increasingly isolating world.”
