Tom Cruise’s Daughter Suri Has Legally Dropped the Cruise Name After Years of Estrangement

According to People, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter has officially changed her legal name, with public voter registration records showing she is now using Suri Noelle instead of Suri Cruise.

The update follows years of reports that the father and daughter have been estranged, while Cruise remains in the spotlight promoting his upcoming film “Digger,” his first collaboration with Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

Suri Noelle Officially Replaces the Cruise Surname

Public records obtained by People show that the 20-year-old Carnegie Mellon University student registered to vote in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania under the name Suri Noelle. The publication reported that the legal change replaces her father’s surname with Noelle, which is also Katie Holmes’ middle name. Page Six first reported the legal filing.

The name had already surfaced publicly before the legal records came to light. During her high school graduation in 2024, commencement materials identified her as Suri Noelle, prompting speculation that she had begun moving away from the Cruise surname. The voter registration records now indicate that the change has been made official.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes welcomed Suri in April 2006 before marrying later that year. Holmes filed for divorce in 2012, after which she raised their daughter in New York. Cruise and Suri have not been photographed together publicly since that time, and multiple reports over the years have described the two as estranged.

The actor’s professional schedule remains busy. Cruise is currently promoting “Digger,” Iñárritu’s upcoming satirical black comedy, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 2, 2026. The Warner Bros. release stars Cruise alongside Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons.
