‘The Pitt’ Star Sepideh Moafi Shuts Down Noah Wyle Feud Rumors: “Completely False”

Rumors born out of fan theories and social media speculation have followed the latest season of "The Pitt," but one of the show’s newest stars is making it clear that the alleged off-screen tension never existed.

In a recent interview Variety, Sepideh Moafi addressed claims that she clashed behind the scenes with co-star and executive producer Noah Wyle while filming the acclaimed medical drama, firmly rejecting the narrative that spread online during Season 2.

The speculation centered on Moafi’s character, Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi, whose arrival as interim attending physician places her in direct conflict with Wyle’s Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. Their tense on-screen dynamic quickly fueled theories among viewers that the hostility extended beyond the cameras, with some fans even suggesting the character arc reflected real-life friction between the actors.

Moafi dismissed the idea outright. “Absolutely not,” she said when asked about the alleged feud. “I do not have that power.” Rather than describing a strained atmosphere, the actress painted a much lighter environment behind the scenes of the HBO Max drama.

“We’re really great colleagues. Noah and I have always had a great working relationship,” Moafi shared, adding that the trust between them actually helped during some of the season’s heavier material. Referring to the emotionally charged Episode 15, she said the pair could move comfortably between intense scenes and joking around during production breaks.

“It actually felt safe to do the darker, dirtier work in episode 15,” she said. “Between setups, we were shooting the s***t and laughing.” Moafi also laughed off the broader narrative surrounding the supposed rivalry, calling the rumors “completely false” and joking that anyone still unconvinced should “check with Noah.”

Created by R. Scott Gemmill and executive produced by Wyle and John Wells, “The Pitt” has become one of HBO Max’s most acclaimed recent dramas. The real-time medical series, which follows emergency room staff through a single 12-hour shift, earned widespread praise for its performances and realism, eventually winning Outstanding Drama Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards and securing an early Season 3 renewal.
