Bad Apples” is the upcoming satirical thriller directed by Jonatan Etzler (One More Time and Swimmer), featuring Saoirse Ronan alongside Nathan Hall (The Crown and The Gathering) and Kirris Riviere (RED 2 and Sandman).

The film is an adaptation of Rasmus Lindgren‘s debut novel and tells the story of Maria, a primary school teacher who faces challenges with a rebellious student. The plot is filled with comedy and suspense.

It follows a teacher who struggles with a disruptive student. In a misguided attempt to control him, she illegally detains the student. The class improves in his absence, causing her to question whether to release the child or not.

According to sources such as The Cinemaholic and Cinema Express, the project aims to blend humor with horror, exploring the uncomfortable truths of human nature.

Filming is scheduled to take place in the UK during the spring of 2024, meaning the drama is still in production. It has also been confirmed that it will be produced by Pulse Films.

Blitz | November 22, 2024

Blitz” is the upcoming period drama set to be released in late 2024, featuring Saoirse Ronan as one of its lead characters. The wartime film has been both written and directed by Steve McQueen (Shame and 12 Years a Slave).

The story follows a group of Londoners during the events of the bombing of the British capital in World War II, and the actress will not be the only star present; quite the opposite.

She will be joined by a long list of important figures, among the most notable being Harris Dickinson, Erin Kellyman, Stephen Graham, Hayley Squires, Kathy Burke and Christopher Chung.

According to various reports on the project, the drama aims to offer a moving and humanized view of the impact of the war on civilians, shedding light on their struggles and acts of bravery during this tumultuous period.

The Outrun | 2024

Nora Fingscheidt is the director who brought “The Outrun” to the big screen, and although the release date has not yet been confirmed, it is expected to arrive sometime in 2024, starring Saoirse Ronan.

The story follows Rona, who, after living on the edge in London, tries to reconcile with her turbulent past. She returns to the wild beauty of the Orkney Islands in Scotland, where she grew up, in hopes of healing.

The renowned star is not the only one featured in the drama, as she will share the screen with other industry talents, including Saskia Reeves, Lauren Lyle, Stephen Dillane and Izuka Hoyle.

The narrative is based on the eponymous book written by Amy Liptrot, who also serves as co-screenwriter along with the director herself and other figures, such as Daisy Lewis (Be Good, Doctor Who and Downton Abbey).
