Fresh from his Saturday Night Live hosting debut, Jacob Elordi is now involved in a police investigation in Australia, his native country, due to an alleged assault on a radio producer on Saturday in a Sydney hotel.

According to Australia’s Daily Telegraph, which was the first to report the news, the 26-year-old actor was at a hotel in Sydney when Joshua Fox, who works as a producer for the “The Kyle & Jackie O Show” on KIIS FM, approached him.

Per Fox’s account of the incident, he asked the actor if he could have some of his bathwater for Jackie O for her birthday. This is a reference to the viral scene in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn, in which Elordi plays Felix. However, he asked Fox to stop filming and delete the video, which made things escalate.

Fox says Elordi pushed him against the wall

Fox shared his account of the incident on “The Kyle & Jackie O Show,” emphasizing his reluctance to delete the video with the explanation, “because I feel uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence.” Describing the altercation, he added, “And then Jacob kind of just flips and he kind of pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat.”

Elordi is coming from appearing in Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla” and “Saltburn,” with both performances winning critical acclaim. He has a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for “Saltburn” at the 2024 BAFTAS.

However, he is also set to appear in several upcoming projects, such as  Paul Schrader’s “Oh, Canada” and Guillermo del Toro’s “Dr. Frankenstein,” in which he’ll be playing The Monster, replacing Andrew Garfield in the role.
