Jacob Elordi Keeps His James Bond Cards Close to His Chest
Elordi’s appearance at “The Dog Stars” premiere came at an important moment for the Bond franchise. Amazon MGM Studios is developing the next installment with Denis Villeneuve directing, Steven Knight writing the screenplay, and producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman overseeing the new era of 007.

The casting process is already generating plenty of speculation, with Jack Lowden and Callum Turner among the names frequently mentioned as leading contenders. Elordi has also remained part of the wider conversation despite being Australian, with reports previously indicating that he had met with the creative team.
That made the question at the London premiere particularly difficult to avoid. When Variety asked whether he had been involved in the auditions, Elordi offered a deliberately brief response: “I’m here on holiday.”
The answer did not confirm or deny anything about his potential involvement. It also allowed Elordi to redirect the conversation toward his actual reason for being in London, the premiere of “The Dog Stars,” where he stars alongside Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley and Guy Pearce.
The Ridley Scott picture follows Hig, a former civilian pilot living in a world devastated by a flu pandemic that has nearly wiped out humanity. Elordi leads the cast as the character, who lives with his dog while trying to survive alongside Brolin’s hardened former Marine. “The Dog Stars” is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on August 28.
While Elordi avoided giving the Bond casting process any new information, his presence in the conversation is unlikely to disappear anytime soon. Amazon MGM is reportedly moving through auditions as it searches for a younger actor capable of carrying the franchise across multiple films, with an official announcement expected before the end of 2026.
