According to information from AMC Theatres, “Avengers: Endgame Encore” is expected to have a runtime of 3 hours and 5 minutes, making it four minutes longer than the 2019 theatrical cut.

‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ Connects the Infinity Saga to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

“Avengers: Endgame Encore” is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 25, three months before “Avengers: Doomsday.” The re-release is intended to revisit the conclusion of the Infinity Saga while adding material that leads audiences toward Marvel’s next “Avengers” story. The new presentation will include a pre-recorded introduction from directors Anthony and Joe Russo.

“Avengers: Doomsday” is positioned as a continuation of the story left behind by “Endgame.” The upcoming film is scheduled for December 18, and brings together characters from different corners of the MCU as well as heroes from other Marvel universes.

Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU in “Doomsday,” but not as Tony Stark. He is playing Victor von Doom, the picture’s central villain, while the Russo brothers are back in the director’s chairs. The connection to “Endgame” also extends to Chris Evans. Steve Rogers finished the 2019 title by traveling back to the 1940s to live with Peggy Carter, but he is also coming back.

The upcoming crossover will unite several groups of heroes against Doctor Doom, including the Avengers, Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men from different universes. Marvel has also assembled a particularly large ensemble around Downey’s villain, with the film bringing back characters played by Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Patrick Stewart and several others.
