Every single idea that comes from producer Nick Santora turns into an instant success. “The Sopranos,” “The Guardian,” “Lie to Me,” and “Prison Break” are just some of the hits he has released onto the world. It wasn’t any different with “Reacher,” which is currently ranked as the #4 series on Prime Video worldwide, according to FlixPatrol.
Santora blended two elements to create one of the most beloved action crime television shows. First, as a source of inspiration, he chose the world-famous “Jack Reacher” book series by Jim Grant, which has 29 installments so far. Then, he selected Alan Ritchson to play the lead, an actor with a distinguished career both within and outside of the genre.
Since its debut on platforms in February 2022, the viewership of “Reacher” has been remarkable. Nielsen streaming rankings data indicates that it was the No. 1 series for six consecutive weeks, making it the first Prime Video production to achieve this record.
Reacher occupies the Top 4 series on Prime Video worldwide
“Reacher” pays close attention to its original source material while also striving to have its own unique spark. Thus, it’s not surprising that it is now the fourth most-watched series on Prime Video worldwide.
It has managed to surpass both “Invincible” and “The Boys,” two of the most beloved productions on the platform. However, it will be challenging for the show to outdo “Fallout” and “Maxton Hall,” which are currently trending at #2 and #1 respectively in all countries.
The show follows the adventures of Jack Reacher, a former U.S. Army military police major who now lives as a drifter, traveling from town to town across the United States delivering his own brand of justice.
Apart from Ritchson, other regulars of the series include Maria Sten, Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, and Serinda Swan. Additionally, Reacher has been portrayed by Tom Cruise in two action-thriller films released in 2012 and 2016.
Another reason for the huge success of the title is the confirmed production of its third season. According to various media outlets, it is highly likely to be released on Prime Video in December.
