This year isn’t over yet, but we can confidently say that “Gangs of Galicia” will be the most successful Spanish show of 2024. Within hours of its release, it soared to the top spots on Netflix in every country.
The crime series follows Ana, a young lawyer seeking a fresh start in Cambados after a family tragedy. There, she meets Daniel, who initially appears to be a typical young man but is actually the son of a major drug dealer.
In the last episode, Clara Lago and Tamar Novas‘ characters were left in an intense cliffhanger. What can we expect for them in Season 2?
All on Ana’s future in the second season of ‘Gangs of Galicia’
At the end of “Gangs of Galicia,” we witness Daniel being arrested and his operations dismantled by the police. Three months later, Ana visits him, despite their relationship being left at a complex point after their last encounter.
During this visit, Ana shocks Daniel by revealing she is pregnant with his child. Their time together ends abruptly as the visitation hours come to a close, leaving the drug dealer speechless with the news.
As for the next season, the suspense suggests that Ana may not have given birth yet. In many crime dramas, pregnancies like Ana’s often lead to intense scenarios, sometimes culminating in childbirth during intense action sequences.
Alternatively, if Daniel faces a long prison sentence, Season 2 might fast forward a few years, portraying their child as a young kid. Ana could then seek to help Daniel escape so they can flee together as a family, a plot device common in mafia movies and series like the Argentine show “El Marginal,” also on Netflix.
Regardless of the storyline, one thing is clear: their situation will be far from easy. With enemies closing in and aware of Ana and Daniel’s vulnerable state, expect tense situations where Ana could be held hostage to manipulate Daniel.
