“Nosferatu” used to be an iconic silent horror film that had become a cult classic. However, this year it will have a new look, all thanks to Robert Eggers (The Northman and The Witch), who will direct the remake.
The first teaser has already been shared and the hype is quite high, as Bill Skarsgård will once again embody a villain: the mythical vampire Nosferatu, who will have a somewhat different appearance and attitude.
The Gothic tale will hit the big screen on December 25th this year and it seems the filming has taken place in some grand landscapes, filled with crosses, small mountains and incredible castles.
Where was the remake of Nosferatu shot?
Nosferatu is not only one of the most anticipated titles of 2024, but it has been a special project for director Robert Eggers, who had planned to make it his second film but ended up being his fourth.
The remake was mainly shot in the Czech Republic, in Prague and Romania between February and May 2023. Production took place at Barrandov Studios and in other incredible locations, which have some great gothic landscapes.
Part of the filming took place in the historic town of Rožmitál pod Tremšín and at Rožmitál Castle, a 13th-century decaying structure that could serve as the home of Count Orlok and for other similar scenes.
