Ella Rubin is an American actress born on September 2, 2001, in New York City. Raised on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, she studied theater and performing arts at the Professional Children’s School before beginning her acting career as a child. Her feature film debut came in “The Rewrite,” where she appeared alongside Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei.
Before landing the lead role in “Sterling Point,” Rubin built a varied television résumé with appearances in “Difficult People” and “Billions,” followed by recurring roles in Netflix’s “The Chair,” HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl,” and Hulu’s “The Girl from Plainville.” Away from the screen, she also made her Broadway debut in the 2019 revival of Tennessee Williams’ “The Rose Tattoo,” once again sharing the stage with Marisa Tomei.
Her film career has expanded just as quickly. Rubin appeared in Sean Price Williams’ “The Sweet East” before joining the cast of “The Idea of You,” the romantic comedy starring Anne Hathaway.
