‘Monster’ Season 4 Heads to Netflix With a New True Crime Mystery
Netflix has confirmed that all eight episodes of “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story” will premiere worldwide on September 17, 2026. The new installment follows the anthology’s previous seasons centered on Jeffrey Dahmer, the Menendez brothers and Ed Gein, continuing the franchise’s focus on notorious homicide cases that have shaped American history.

The upcoming part centers on Lizzie Borden, who lived in Fall River, Massachusetts, and was accused of killing her father, Andrew Borden, and her stepmother, Abby Borden, with a hatchet in 1892. Although she stood trial for the murders, she was acquitted, and no one else was ever convicted in the case. Even so, the investigation and courtroom proceedings became a national sensation, helping transform the Borden case into one of the country’s most enduring true crime stories.
Ella Beatty leads the cast as Lizzie Borden, joined by Vicky Krieps as Bridget Sullivan, the Borden family’s live-in maid. Charlie Hunnam portrays Andrew Borden, while Rebecca Hall takes on the role of Abby Borden. The ensemble also includes Billie Lourd, Jessica Barden and Joey Pollari, with Sarah Paulson set to appear as Aileen Wuornos in a guest role.
Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan return as co-creators and executive producers for the new chapter. Since debuting in 2022, “Monster” has become one of Netflix’s most successful original franchises, expanding from a limited series into an anthology that revisits high-profile homicide cases across different eras.
