After reviving their music career in recent years, Keanu Reeves and his bandmates are preparing the next chapter for Dogstar.
As reported by Pitchfork, the group will release a new album titled All in Now on May 29 through their own label, Dillon Street Records, marking another step in the band’s steady comeback after more than two decades away from the spotlight.
A New Album and a Global Run for Dogstar
Formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s, Dogstar began as a casual project between Reeves, guitarist and vocalist Bret Domrose and drummer Robert Mailhouse. What started as garage rehearsals eventually grew into a touring band that built a modest but loyal following during the late 1990s before stepping away from the stage in the early 2000s.
The trio reunited in the early 2020s, first returning to rehearsals before officially reviving the band and releasing the album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees in 2023. That comeback project reintroduced Dogstar to audiences who knew Reeves primarily from film while reaffirming the group’s identity as a straightforward alternative rock act rather than a celebrity side project.
Their upcoming record All in Now signals that the reunion was never meant to be temporary. The band has already unveiled the title track as the first taste of the new material, suggesting a continuation of the guitar-driven sound that has defined the group since its earliest recordings.
To support the release, Dogstar is planning a major tour. The itinerary includes festival appearances and theater shows throughout Europe during the summer, followed by an extended North American leg that reaches cities such as Austin, Nashville, Boston, New York, Detroit, Denver, and Salt Lake City.
For Reeves, balancing music and film has long been part of his creative life. But with a new album on the way and a packed touring schedule ahead, Dogstar’s latest phase appears to be more than a nostalgic return. The band is leaning into a full-scale second act.
