With eleven seasons and 250 episodes, “Modern Family” has cemented its place as one of the most beloved sitcoms worldwide. From 2009 to 2020, fans watched its characters grow and navigate life’s ups and downs together.
The show follows three diverse family setups in suburban Los Angeles, all connected through their patriarch, Jay Pritchett. Its unique mockumentary style features the actors and actresses frequently speaking directly to the camera in confessional interview segments.
Four years after the series finale, hints from the cast suggest a possible revival. Here, explore the chances of the Pritchetts returning to the small screen.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet have reunited on set
The first thing that alerted the “Modern Family” fanbase was quite significant. A few days ago, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who portrayed Mitchell Pritchett, uploaded an Instagram story of the entrance to the home that belonged to Claire and Phil in the show, with the caption, “Haven’t seen this view in a while.”
On X (formerly Twitter), fans quickly shared Tyler’s photo, and one user even posted an update saying, “I can confirm,” along with a picture showing the “Modern Family” props truck at what appeared to be a filming set.
The excitement escalated when Eric Stonestreet, famous for playing Cameron Tucker, uploaded an Instagram story of Tyler in a country costume, with makeup making him look older, and captioned it with the same phrase: “Haven’t seen this view in a while.”

As fans may recall, the series ended with Cam and Mitchell moving from Los Angeles to Missouri to live with their daughter Lily and their son Rexford in Cam’s childhood home.
Given these developments, it is clear that whatever is happening with “Modern Family” in the coming months is not a reboot, as the series won’t be restarted. Instead, based on Eric Stonestreet’s Instagram update showing an older Mitchell, it seems likely to be a continuation, possibly a special. Stay tuned for updates.
