“The Summer I Turned Pretty” is one of the most popular and beloved series on Prime Video, which has been trending for the past two years whenever new episodes are released and has a large fan base.
During 2023, the second season premiered, and as a result of its success, it was renewed for a third part, which will continue the story of teenage love including a love triangle, and will bring back the original actors.
Lola Tung will return to star in the adaptation of Jenny Han‘s novel “We’ll Always Have Summer“, while Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno will bring the characters Conrad and Jeremiah back to life.
When is Season 3 released?
Sources close to the project have confirmed that filming for the third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” has already begun, so the new episodes, which will be 11 in total, will arrive in 2025.
It is most likely that they will be premiere before mid-year on Prime Video, but it all depends on how long it takes to finish filming, the editing process and everything involved in producing a new part of the series.
Although they have not announced if it will be the last season of the show, it is believed that these will be the final episodes of the story, as the plot will be influenced by the third book of the trilogy, which is the last.
Amazon’s head of television, Vernon Sanders, spoke about the third installment and said in a statement:
“This charming and deeply felt series has showcased the breadth of our customer base, attracting a young and diverse group of viewers. Jenny Han is a talented storyteller, whose fans have been clamoring for the third chapter of this story. We are excited today to share the news that they have much more summer to look forward to“.
