This eight-episode production was created by South African filmmaker Karabo Lediga, who previously earned acclaim for her 2020 short film “What Did You Dream?” and for directing an episode of “Queen Sono”. Lediga’s latest project stars Imani Pullum, best known for her role as Will Smith‘s daughter in the 2022 psychological thriller “Emancipation”.
“Classified” follows the story of fifteen-year-old Ella Gardner, whose world is upended when she’s sent from California to live with her estranged father in South Africa to complete her secondary education. There, she faces a reality vastly different from the one she’s known. With many viewers already binge-watching the title, the question on everyone’s mind is: Will there be a second season?

However, Prime Video has a reputation for setting strict goals for its shows, as demonstrated by the recent cancellation of “My Lady Jane.” Despite topping worldwide charts for weeks, the production was axed due to not finding its target audience, according to Deadline.
Predicting whether “Classified” will get another season is challenging, but the fact that Prime Video acquired the rights and released it in the U.S. suggests they are seeking a broader audience and possibly considering future episodes.
