Halo, the sci-fi series based on the beloved video game franchise of the same name, will return with its second season on Paramount+. And the streamer has already confirmed the release date: February 8th, 2024. It will premiere two episodes that day, and then each episode will air weekly.

The story unfolds in the 26th century, portraying a conflict between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant—an alliance of advanced alien races with a theocratic-military agenda, committed to wiping out the human race.

Pablo Schreiber, known for series such as American God and Orange is The New Black, stars as Master Chief. Meanwhile, Jen Taylor reprises her voice role from the videogame as Cortana. Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, Danny Sapani, Bokeem Woodbine, and Natascha McElhone complete the cast.

Season 2 of Halo Trailer: Prepare for the Fall of Reach

While hard-die fans of the game were shocked by some changes in the adaptation, particularly Master Chief’s character, it seems like the second season will be a treat for them as it will adapt one of the most beloved storylines, the Fall of Reach.

The first trailer reveals lots of action and a big focus on the planet Reach, where the SPARTAN program created Master Chief and other Spartan soldiers. Reach is crucial in the Human-Covenant war, especially in the legendary Fall of Reach battle.

Reach is also a significant world in humanity’s expansion, and is a hub of military and production power near Earth. For what we can see, Master Chief and his fellow Spartans unite to protect Reach from a surprise Covenant attack. He and allies aim to save humanity by searching for a powerful intergalactic weapon—the mysterious ringworld known as the Halo.

David Wiener (Brave New World) serves as showrunner and executive producer of the series. On the other hand, Deadline reports that new cast members include Joseph Morgan, Cristina Rodlo and Christina Bennington. Fiona O’Shaughnessy and Tylan Bailey will also return as series regulars in season two.
