All good things come to an end, except “Criminal Minds.” The police procedural crime drama is back with its 17th season, becoming the most-watched series on Paramount+ in the United States.

Created and produced by Jeff Davis, premiered on CBS on September 22, 2005, and concluded its main storyline on February 19, 2020. It was revived in 2022 and has since spawned three spin-offs. Two of these have been canceled, but the surviving one, “Criminal Minds: Evolution,” premiered its second season on June 6, causing the entire title to trend once again on the streamer.

Starting June 13, the remaining eight episodes of the series will be released weekly on Thursdays on the platform, with the final episode available on July 31. Showrunner Erica Messer has confirmed that all main characters from the sixteenth season will be returning.

It quickly dethroned “Mayor of Kingstown” from the top spot, despite this being one of Jeremy Renner‘s highly anticipated returns. It has also outshined “Evil,” the 2019 drama series that has been dominating the charts in recent weeks.

In this spin-off, the FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers faces their greatest threat yet: an UnSub who used the pandemic to build a network of serial killers. As the world reopens, the network becomes active again, and the team must hunt down one killer at a time.

The main cast includes Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, and Adam Rodriguez. While some actors have been with the show since the early seasons and others joined later, they all play crucial roles in the intricate puzzle that the production represents.
