Netflix tailors its content strategy for each country it operates in, and for Italy, it has crafted one of the most compelling psychological dramas in its catalog: “Everything Calls for Salvation,” a series sure to bring at least one tear to your eye.

The story follows Daniele Cenni, a young man committed to a psychiatric facility after experiencing a violent psychotic episode. Initially resistant to accepting his mental state, his perspective shifts as he interacts with five other patients, detached doctors, and cynical nurses.

On September 26, the show returned with a five-episode second season, which has already been binge-watched by many. Fans are now eager to know if they’ll see more of this beloved protagonist in a third season. Here, all the details about the probabilities of a continuation.

‘Everything Calls for Salvation’: Could Netflix greenlit a third installment?

When “Everything Calls for Salvation” concluded its first season in 2022, it left viewers uncertain about its future. While many storylines were left open, such as Nina confessing she was pregnant to Daniele, others were resolved, like Mario’s death.

Although a pregnancy typically signals a narrative continuation, the first part had a conclusive tone that didn’t strongly suggest a second season was forthcoming. However, due to its tremendous success, Netflix renewed it. Season 2, while lacking definitive clues about future developments, does drop some hints that we may have seen the last of Daniele.

In this continuation, Daniele’s storyline appears to reach a significant turning point. At the start, he begins working as a nurse in the same psychiatric hospital where he received treatment before. Although he has made strides in overcoming his demons, he must now confront them permanently, and manages to do so.

By the end, Daniele seems to have found solid footing in life, supported by a family that accepts him and a new relationship that values him for who he is. As he reads a deeply emotional poem, it feels like the conclusion of his journey. From a narrative perspective, one could argue there’s no compelling need for a third season.

However, Italian media outlets are optimistic that if “Everything Calls for Salvation” performs well on the charts, it will be renewed for a third installment no matter what. If that happens, it could follow a similar timeline as the first two parts, potentially premiering in 2026. We’ll keep you updated on any developments!
