The Argentinian film industry, one of South America’s most prolific, has just released its new streaming hit, “Goyo”. According to FixPatrol, it has quickly become one of the most-watched movies on Netflix worldwide.

Featuring a beautiful romantic storyline, it also showcases some of Buenos Aires‘ most stunning locations. The plot and landscapes blend to create a production that is not only entertaining but also deeply touching.

It was directed by Marcos Carnevale, known as the best director of comedies in Argentina and across the Spanish entertainment circuit. His notable works include “Lion’s Heart”, “Inseparable”, and “All Hail”, among many others.

‘Goyo’ ranks #4 on Netflix worldwide

Since Argentina won its first Oscar for “The Official Story” in 1986, the world has eagerly awaited its cinematic offerings. Therefore, it’s no surprise that “Goyo” ranks as the fourth most-watched movie globally on Netflix.

The film has notably surpassed “Trigger Warning,” Jessica Alba‘s highly streamed return. Currently, it’s in a close competition with Zac Efron‘s “A Family Affair” to climb further in the charts.

It centers on a young man named Goyo, who has Asperger’s syndrome and works as a guide at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. His life takes a turn when a new security guard joins the museum, leading to a romantic interest that complicates when Goyo discovers she is married.

Featuring a star-studded cast of some of Argentina and Uruguay’s most prolific actors, the movie is led by Nicolás Furtado and Nancy Dupláa, alongside Soledad Villamil, Pablo Rago, Cecilia Roth, and others.

Critics both nationally and internationally have praised “Goyo,” highlighting it as one of the best performances from its cast, a significant praise considering their decades-long careers.
