Directed by Antoine Fuqua and released in 2007, the film is based on the novel “Point of Impact” by Stephen Hunter, which was a bestseller, and its adaptation was a resounding success, becoming one of the most popular.

The story follows Bob Lee Swagger, a former sniper from the United States Marines who lives in seclusion after being betrayed on a previous mission in Ethiopia. He is recruited again by Colonel Isaac Johnson, who persuades him to help prevent an assassination attempt against the president.
He is brought into an operation where he must identify and neutralize a sniper threatening to attack during a public event. However, once the assassination attempt occurs, he becomes the prime suspect and is pursued by the law.
