‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ Fans Angered as Netflix Sets ‘Steel Ball Run’ Stage 2 for Late 2026

The streamer’s latest update has done little to calm concerns about how the anime will be released moving forward.

The rollout of “Steel Ball Run,” the latest installment in “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” is already facing scrutiny after its unconventional debut, and a new update has only intensified the conversation.

Netflix has confirmed that Stage 2 of the series is slated to arrive at some point in 2026, though without a more precise timeline.

A Vague Timeline Rekindles Ongoing Release Frustrations

The anime, produced by David Production and adapting the most beloved arc of Hirohiko Araki’s long-running manga, premiered with a single extended episode on March 19. While the debut introduced the cross-country race storyline led by Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli, it did not establish a clear release cadence for what follows.

That absence of structure has become a central point of contention. Viewers have been left without confirmation of whether new episodes will arrive weekly, in irregular drops, or as larger batches spaced months apart. A brief and subsequently removed comment from a Netflix account suggesting a weekly rollout added to the uncertainty, particularly as the series did not appear in any consistent release lineup in the weeks following its premiere.

Concerns have also been shaped by precedent. When “Stone Ocean,” the previous arc of the franchise, was released in batches, the staggered approach was widely seen as diminishing momentum between drops. With Stage 2 now positioned broadly within 2026, some fans are anticipating a similar pattern.

For now, Netflix’s confirmation answers one question while leaving several others unresolved. The next stage of the story is officially on the way, but without clearer details on timing or format, the conversation around how audiences will experience it remains very much open.
