Top Gun was one of the highest-grossing classic films, but there’s no comparison to its sequel, Maverick. The continuation has exceeded all expectations, and the new installment with Tom Cruise has become an icon.
The fact that it was such a success wasn’t solely attributed to its captivating story and the high-voltage scenes featuring the pilots, but also to the incredible stellar cast, which included actors like Glen Powell and Miles Teller.
The young figures, who enter the list of the most talented actors of the new generation, are the ones who brought to life Lt. Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin and Lt. Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw in the drama directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Miles Teller talks about possible Top Gun 3
Miles Teller was one of the first to talk about his involvement in Top Gun, especially after Paramount confirmed that it was in development and production could soon begin with the original cast.
The actor, who plays Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw, confessed in July 2022 that he had discussions with Tom Cruise about the franchise’s third movie, which would again be directed by Joseph Kosinski.

The star told ET Online that he was willing to return to portray his iconic character once again, but “that’s all up to TC“, who was the main protagonist of the first action movie in 1986.
“It’s all up to Tom. I’ve been having some conversations with him about it. We’ll see”, he confessed to the entertainment outlet. He also added that the sequel was a really wild and beautiful journey to share.
Will Glen Powell and Miles Teller return for Top Gun 3?
Although Miles Teller has not made any other comments, Glen Powell has confirmed his return for the third installment of Top Gun. During an interview with Variety at the Sundance Festival, he announced that a start date has been set.
Although he did not want to give many details, he assured that he has been given a date, though it is unclear whether this refers to the beginning of production or his physical preparation. There he said:

“Fun things will be announced soon… but it was something confidential for me. I talk to [Joseph] Kosinski, Cruise, and Jerry [Bruckheimer] all the time. Things are happening, and they sound very exciting. I don’t know when I’ll be back…. I’m sure there will be a plane waiting for me at some point in the future’“.
Undoubtedly, each of these characters has made an incredible contribution to the sequel’s plot, so the idea would be to continue the story, marking the beginning of the journey for the new generation within the movie.
