According to Deadline, the film reached the $800 million domestic milestone in 19 days, surpassing the previous record held by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which took 23 days to reach the same figure.
The record is another sign of the picture’s extraordinary performance since arriving in theaters. “Brand New Day” premiered on July 27 and opened in the United States on July 31 as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The title has also become the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie and has surpassed $2 billion worldwide.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Continues Its Record-Breaking Box Office Run
The film follows Peter Parker after the events of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” with the world having forgotten his identity. Parker has spent the years since protecting New York City alone, focusing almost entirely on his responsibilities as Spider-Man. His isolation and relentless work begin to affect him as his powers evolve, while a new telepathic threat emerges.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, with Zendaya reprising her role as MJ and Jacob Batalon returning as Ned Leeds. The cast also includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. Sink’s Jean Grey serves as a central figure in the picture’s conflict, while Bernthal and Ruffalo bring established MCU characters into Parker’s latest story.
The story also represents a shift for Holland’s version of Spider-Man. After the multiverse-heavy events of “No Way Home,” the filmmakers developed a more grounded story centered on Parker’s life as an independent hero. The production notes describe the goal as presenting Holland’s Peter as a more traditional Spider-Man, operating on his own and dealing with street-level crime while confronting the consequences of his personal isolation.
