The rumors are still hot and everything indicates that Margot Robbie would be the next leading star in the upcoming film directed by Olivia Wilde, which belongs to the world of DC Comics.

As the days go by, Warner Bros. is getting closer to closing a seven-figure deal for the film adaptation of “Avengelyne“, the comic series developed by Rob Liefeld (Domino and Titans) and Cathy Christian in 1995.

The project is already underway and in development, not only because they have a filmmaker chosen but also because they have other key cast members, such as the screenwriter, who will be Tony McNamara (Poor Things).

Margot Robbie could be the new Avengelyne

Margot Robbie, who had a great year with the release of Barbie, will be part of the next DC Comics adaptation, which will bring Avengelyne to the big screen. In addition to starring in the film, she will produce it alongside LuckyChap.

Although these are just rumors, IGN reported that the actress who portrayed the doll in Greta Gerwig‘s drama could be ready to take the next step in her career and become a DC hero, stepping away from her role as Harley Quinn.

The future movie follows an angel who is expelled from Heaven and must redeem himself by defending humanity. As has been the case with several projects, this one has taken over a decade to finally be approved and start development.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that before considering Robbie, former The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano was being considered for the lead role in the action thriller.

The creator spoke with Variety and expressed excitement about collaborating with Don’t Worry Darling director and actress to bring the idea to life. He expressed gratitude for being able to make the film and said:

“Next was meeting Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde, and the connection was electric! They told me they wanted Tony McNamara to write it, and after a couple of meetings, Tony is on board and things couldn’t be more exciting.

It’s all the result of the magic of Margot, Olivia, and Simon coming together to assemble this incredible team of creatives, all determined to create an unparalleled cinematic experience!”.
