Maia Reficco is the star of the moment, and we hope her time in the spotlight never ends. Since her debut as Kally Ponce in the Nickelodeon series “Kally’s Mashup” in 2017, she has garnered a devoted following that eagerly supports her every project.

Despite having only six credits to her name, Reficco has made a significant impact in Hollywood, particularly with her roles in “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” and the recent Prime Video release “One Fast Move” alongside K.J. Apa.

While her career is worth celebrating, there’s one aspect that’s driving her fans mad: her most anticipated project, “A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow,” seems to be stuck in development hell. Thet are constantly asking, ‘When will it be released?’ Well, there’s a clue that might just give us the answer.

‘A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow’ could be arriving sooner than we think!

Why is “A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow” such a highly anticipated film? There are three main reasons: it’s the adaptation of Laura Taylor Namey’s beloved 2019 novel, and it features Maia Reficco and Kit Connor in the lead roles.

Fans of both actors are eagerly awaiting this movie. For Maia, it marks another significant step in solidifying her career, while for Kit, it offers a chance to diversify his roles and avoid being typecast after “Heartstopper.” Additionally, rumors that the dated some time ago have only fueled excitement among their fans.

The anticipation has only grown because, despite the picture starting production in August 2022 and wrapping in less than two months, there has been no word on a release date. Has the project been canceled? Fortunately, no.

It is still listed on ACE Entertainment’s website, and if it had been canceled, the creators would have announced it. Furthermore, ACE Entertainment is known for taking about two years to release their films, with long post-production processes. For instance, their last popular rom-com, “Love at First Sight,” took that exact amount of time to reach audiences. So, there’s still hope!

Now for the good news: while the production team behind “A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow” has been tight-lipped about the release date, Maz Makhani, the film’s cinematographer, has listed the project on his website and mentioned that the trailer is set to debut this year. Since trailers typically aren’t released far in advance of the productions they promote, there’s a very good chance the movie will be out before the end of 2024.

It’s also highly likely that the picture will be released on Netflix. Fans of Kit Connor might have noticed that the title is listed on his résumé as being distributed by the streamer. Moreover, this wouldn’t be ACE Entertainment’s first collaboration with Netflix, as most of their productions have premiered on the platform. Plus, the #1 entertainment company would undoubtedly seize the opportunity to further develop Kit Connor’s image and career.
