After “Hacks” swept the 2024 Emmys, the show’s creators (Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs) confirmed that the comedy series will be returning to Max with its fourth season, and filming will begin relatively soon.

The sitcom-style series, starring Jean Smart (Mare of Easttown) as Deborah Vance and Hannah Einbinder (Strange Planet) as Ava Daniels, has been a huge success since it debuted on HBO with its first season in 2021.

When will season 4 of Hacks premiere on Max?

Harper’s Bazaar reported that the official date for the fourth season has not yet been confirmed, but we can get an idea of when it might be arriving on Max, and all indications suggest it could be in early May 2025.

The co-creator of the dramedy, Lucia Aniello, explained to The Hollywood Reporter how the episode release process works during an interview a few months ago, in May 2024. She said:

To give you an idea of how long we’ve been working on this season, we started writing it in May 2022 and filming it that November. We didn’t finish shooting until January 2024“. At the Emmys, she reported that filming would begin in October.

Who are the cast members of Hacks season 4?

Of course, Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder will be returning in the lead roles for the fourth season of “Hacks”. So, we’ll see them once again take on the roles of the funny Deborah Vance and Ava Daniels.

It’s likely that several cast members from the fourth season will return to join the stars, including one of the television show’s creators, Paul W. Downs, who plays Jimmy in 21 episodes so far.
