Max US: Death by Fame is the docu-series on Hollywood's dark side that is Top 10

Max has once again bet on documentary series, and this week, one that deals with the darker sides of Hollywood has become a trend. Here, check out everything about Death by Fame's new position in the American Top 10.

The documentaries are at their peak, especially because multiple platforms have been adding this type of content to their catalogs. Max was one of them, which bet on Death by Fame, produced by Investigation Discovery.

The series has become the fifth most-watched in the United States and portrays the dark side of Hollywood, along with all its less glamorous, often controversial, and problematic aspects of the entertainment industry in Los Angeles.

The TV show already has two seasons, which have not finished releasing all their episodes, as it premiered just a week ago. Each of them portrays the tragic fate of popular stars, such as Johnny Lewis and Christina Grimmie.

Death by Fame ranked No. 10 on Max US

Thanks to the new edition of Death by Fame, the show has not only become one of Max‘s most popular series but also the most-watched true crime documentary of the week, ranking in the Top 10 in the United States.

According to the specialized metrics site Flix Patrol, the Discovery-produced original has managed to stand out above the rest and surpass several other titles. The second season has been a complete success and has been climbing in the rankings.

The docu-series delves behind the scenes to uncover the sinister side of fame and reveal the shocking real stories hidden behind the rise, fall, and murder of some of Hollywood’s most promising stars.

In the first edition, the tragic endings of some popular industry figures like Christina Grimmie, Johnny Lewis, Amie Hardwick and Catherine Martinez were shared. Meanwhile, in the second, stories of individuals like Tara Correa-McMullen and Jim Jefferies were featured.

The cast is made up of multiple actors, in addition to some professionals such as Criminal Trial Attorney Sara Azari. Each of the stories is presented using archival footage, current interviews with various professionals, and reenactments, classifying it as a hybrid production.
