HBO has once again invested in a period romance, this time with the new adaptation of the classic “Like Water for Chocolate“, based on the popular novel written by Laura Esquivel, which will be added to the Max catalog.

The upcoming series, produced by Salma Hayek Pinault, promises to bring to life the love story and tradition that has captivated readers around the world and has become a classic of contemporary literature.

The cast includes Irene Azuela, Ana Valeria Becerril, Azul Guaita and Andrea Chaparro in the leading roles. The drama will capture the essence of the original work, merging rich storytelling with modern and engaging production.

When is Like Water for Chocolate coming to Max?

The upcoming adaptation of “Like Water for Chocolate“, which will arrive on Max in a series format, is set to premiere on November 3 of this year. So, there are just a few weeks left until the debut.

The gripping and intriguing stands out for its blend of magical realism and romance, where Tita’s emotions manifest through the food she prepares, deeply affecting those who taste it.

This representation of love and food intertwines cultural and sensory elements that promise to be visually stunning, especially after HBO released the first teaser, featuring Azul Guaita (La mujer del diablo and Rebelde) as Tita.
