What did the critics say about The Collective?

Despite the good story and cast, the critics did not align with this, and both viewers and professionals agreed that it was a movie that did not meet expectations.

Steve Prokopy of Third Coast Review was one who did not hesitate to share his opinion on the official website, stating, “The Collective Makes a Great Case for a Bad Action Movie”, giving it only one and a half stars out of four.

“The sets look like they were held together with duct tape and Elmer’s glue; the action and gunplay are pretty standard; and the dialogue is often surprisingly dumb. Basically, if the traffickers hadn’t spent so much time being flashy, The Collective never would have found them. It’s a silly movie and an exercise in watching usually interesting artists find something to add to the end of their filmographies”, the critic wrote at the end of the article.

Undoubtedly, he and many others agreed that the movie fell short of expectations. However, not everything was entirely negative, as the cast featured talented and high-quality actors, and some performances were praised.

Among the IMDb reviews, a user (alci350) who watched the thriller gave it 7 out of 10 stars and stated that it was quite entertaining. He also wrote, “The reviews for this are just insane. I think people went in expecting John Wick 5 or something“.

He concluded by adding, “The scenes, conversations, and stories add up just fine. I was expecting some real awkward talk, but it’s all pretty fine actually. I think this goes into a B+ movie category. There are some scenes that could have been improved, had better topics. But they are funny the way they were made“.
