The singer posted a video on X showing herself in the studio on the very day she watched the film, wrote the track, and recorded its vocals before presenting it to Disney CEO Bob Iger and Pixar executives later that evening.

Swift offered fans a glimpse into what she described as one of the most exciting days of her career. In the video, filmed inside a recording studio, she explained that the process began shortly after attending a screening of “Toy Story 5” earlier that day.

“Been kind of a hectic day,” Swift said while standing behind a studio console. She then recounted her packed schedule, revealing, “At 11 a.m., went to go see ‘Toy Story 5,’ got so inspired, got the songwriter zoomies, went home, wrote the end credit song for ‘Toy Story 5.’”

What followed was an unusually compressed timeline, even by industry standards. By early evening, the song had already moved from an idea sparked by the film to a fully produced track awaiting its final vocal recording session. “We have now produced it, and I’m doing vocals,” she said in the clip.

The singer also revealed the pressure surrounding the session. “It’s 6:57 p.m. In two hours, Bob Iger and Tom from Pixar are coming to hear it. We have not recorded it yet.” Despite the tight deadline, Swift appeared energized rather than stressed, documenting the final stages of the recording process as the clock ticked toward the meeting.

She closed the update on a celebratory note, calling the experience “one of the most fun days of my life.” The song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” ultimately made it into the film without reported revisions. The track was co-written and co-produced with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff and serves as the end credits song for Pixar’s latest installment in the beloved franchise.
