Richard Madden has always tried to keep his relationships and close circle away from the media spotlight, as there has been much talk about him. Although the actor is quite secretive, it is believed that he is currently single.
Despite his efforts, several of his romances have become known. One of his longest relationships was with actress Jenna Coleman, known for her role in Doctor Who. The two started dating in 2012 and were together until 2015.
The following year, he was linked to presenter Laura Whitmore. Reports claimed that the chemistry between them was undeniable, but their romance only lasted a few months before they decided to go their separate ways.
In 2017, rumors surfaced that he had started a relationship with Love Island presenter Caroline Flack. However, this relationship was also brief and ended before the year was over.

During a press tour for his 2019 movie Rocketman (in which he plays John Reid), the actor finally addressed all the rumors surrounding him. In an interview with The New York Times, he said:
“I just keep my personal life personal. I’ve never talked about my relationships. We have to focus more on diversity and having everyone represented, but I’m also a firm believer in the best actor for the part“.
In 2020, rumors emerged about his closeness to actor Froy Gutierrez, known for Teen Wolf. It was speculated that they spent lockdown together in Los Angeles, raising questions about the nature of their relationship.
