The script will be written by Seth Grahame-Smith, Gavin James and Michael Lesslie. Seven years have passed since the sequel, but Screen Daily has confirmed that the project has evolved into a trilogy and is currently in development.

So far, the cast includes Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney, Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel Atlas and, of course, Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley. The participation of Mark Ruffalo or Dave Franco is still a mystery.

Lionsgate International is the production company that gave the green light to the drama about magicians, thieves, and illusionists. However, they have not yet revealed a release date, although it is estimated that it could debut on screen in 2025.

Hate to See You Go – tba

Hate to See You Go is the upcoming drama directed by Ben Tishler (Old Dads), who will also co-write the script alongside Rob Stone (Sam Lay in Bluesland and Born in Chicago) . Although it does not yet have a release date, the cast and plot have already been revealed.

Morgan will take on the lead role of Sonny Bell, and he will be joined by figures such as Alfre Woodard, Bill Burr, Common and Trevor Jackson, as of now. The narrative will be quite personal for the main actor, as he is a big fan of the blues and even owns his own club, called Ground Zero Blues Club.

The story follows Sonny, an aging Blues musician from Chicago, who refuses to retire. Defiantly, he hits the road with his band for one last, extended opportunity to continue doing the one thing that truly makes them feel alive: playing the Blues.

Gunner (or Man of War) – June 6, 2024

Man of War, whose original title is Gunner, is Freeman’s next project set to debut on the big screen on June 6th of this year, with iconic actor Luke Hemsworth (Westworld and Land of Bad) as a co-star.

The Little Bedroom – tba

The drama that will feature Freeman as a co-star alongside Kate Mara and Laurence Fishburne will be directed by two top-notch filmmakers: Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond, known for Transatlantic and Schwesterlein.

The Little Bedroom follows Edmond, a man recovering in a center after a bad fall. He learns that his son has sold his apartment, so he leaves with a nurse to his home to regain his autonomy.

Currently, the project is in pre-production, so there is no specific release date, and it might be released exclusively through streaming. However, we could expect its debut sometime in 2025.
