Megan Thee Stallion is officially heading to Broadway. The chart-topping rapper will step into the glitter-soaked world of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” this spring, taking on one of the production’s most flamboyant and commanding roles. The announcement instantly sent buzz through both the music and theater communities, marking a major crossover moment for the Houston native.

A History Making Turn at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre

Megan Thee Stallion will portray nightclub impresario Harold Zidler, the larger than life master of ceremonies. The role was originally brought to Broadway by Tony Award winner Danny Burstein, whose performance helped define the character as a theatrical force of nature. Now, Megan is preparing to put her own stamp on the part, blending her signature confidence with Zidler’s showman flair.

Her engagement begins March 24 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and will run for eight weeks through May 17. The limited run is expected to draw significant attention, with fans of the rapper and Broadway regulars alike eager to see how she transforms the iconic emcee into something distinctly her own.

The casting also marks a groundbreaking milestone. Megan will become the first female identifying performer to play Harold Zidler in any production of Moulin Rouge worldwide. The decision reflects a growing openness in theater toward bold reinterpretations of established roles, especially in a show already known for its high energy spectacle and pop infused sensibility.

For Megan Thee Stallion, the move represents yet another expansion of her already multifaceted career. Beyond Grammy wins and chart topping hits, she has steadily ventured into acting and television, proving she is comfortable commanding any stage. Now, with the lights of Broadway shining down, she is poised to deliver one of the most unexpected and talked about performances of the season.
