Margot Robbie (The Suicide Squad) has been announced as the new face of Chanel No. 5, one of the most iconic perfumes in the world. This collaboration is part of a new advertising campaign set to launch in October 2024.

The actress, who has been an ambassador for the brand since March 2018, expressed her excitement about joining the list of actresses associated with this fragrance, stating: “It is a great honor to join that long list of incredible talents“.

The Italian director and screenwriter Luca Guadagnino is responsible for directing the commercial for the luxury brand, working closely with the Barbie star, as well as actor Jacob Elordi, who has also joined the brand’s family.

How much did Margot Robbie earn for the commercial?

Apparently, Margot Robbie may have received a seven-figure sum for the commercial and become the new face of Chanel No. 5. The Daily Mail UK reported that she has been earning well from such jobs for years.

The outlet mentioned that an Australian talent agent based in the United States stated that the actress is receiving at least $1.5 million for promoting products and securing these types of commercial agreements.

During a conversation with News Corp Australia, the agent referred again to Margot’s earnings since she has gained status as an it girl and celebrity, confessing to the outlet:

Everyone wants to work with her. She fits within their primary target market of mid 20s to early 40s. She’s Australian and successful in the US, so she speaks to both markets, and is at the stage where she is considered a Hollywood A-lister“.

Several international brands have been close to the star for some time, so this type of work is not new to her. In 2017, she joined Nissan and was named the ambassador for the BladeGlider, their electric model.

Max Markson, a public relations agent, spoke with The Daily Telegraph at the time and confirmed that the agreement could earn her $1 million and even a free car. In the case of Chanel, it is estimated that it will only be a financial gain.
