Hudson Williams is set to take a significant step forward in his film career, joining Dylan O’Brien in the upcoming dark comedy thriller “Apparatus.” According to Deadline, the project will mark the feature directorial debut of Canadian actress Sofia Banzhaf, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Grayson Moore.
A Breakout Star Steps Into the Spotlight With ‘Apparatus’
Williams will lead “Apparatus” as Tyler, a struggling rideshare driver whose life takes a sharp turn after meeting a charismatic entrepreneur. O’Brien is set to play JP, the figure who draws Tyler into an increasingly volatile business venture that begins with promise but spirals into something far more dangerous.
For Williams, the role arrives at a moment of heightened visibility. The 2001-born Canadian actor earned widespread attention for his portrayal of Shane Hollander in “Heated Rivalry,” a performance noted for its restraint and emotional precision. The series became a breakout hit, and his work on it drew industry recognition, including a Canadian Screen Award nomination.
His recent trajectory reflects that momentum. Beyond “Apparatus,” Williams has expanded into a mix of television and film projects, including the upcoming drama series “Yaga.” On the other hand, “Heated Rivalry” Season 2 is officially in development for a projected April 2027 release, a move expected to further elevate the actor’s growing profile.
