Barry Keoghan has joined the list of current top actors, and after his participation in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed drama The Killing of a Sacred Deer in 2017, he managed to gain significant recognition and praise.

There, he shared the screen with Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman, playing the role of Martin, a young man with a mysterious connection to the star of The Lobster. For some time now, he has been getting involved in major projects.

His talent and fame led him to star in top-tier films, such as Saltburn by Emerald Fennell. His character, Oliver Quick, has caused quite a stir and is currently trending, especially due to some of his controversial scenes.

What are Barry Keoghan’s next projects?

Bring Them Down | TBA

Bring Them Down is Barry’s upcoming suspense drama, which will be the first of all his projects to be released. Chris Andrews is the director of the film, currently in post-production, and also co-wrote the screenplay with Jonathan Hourigan.

The story revolves around an Irish shepherd family facing various challenges: internal struggles, hostility within the family, and rivalry with another farmer. Keoghan brings Jack, one of the main characters, to life.

The star will be joined by Christopher Abbott, Colm Meaney, Nora-Jane Noone, Paul Ready, Aaron Heffernan, Susan Lynch, Conor MacNeill, Adam Behan, Diarmuid de Faoite, Youssef Quinn, Martin Gilligan and Tom Leavey.

Untitled the Weeknd & Trey Edward Shults Project | TBA

The Weeknd and Trey Edward Shults have joined forces for a new project, which has not been titled yet but already features multiple A-list stars in its cast. Barry won’t be the only one in a leading role; he will be accompanied by Jenna Ortega, Charli D’Amelio and Abel Tesfaye himself.

Shults will be directing the plot, which was co-written by both producer stars and Reza Fahim (The Idol). The plot has not been revealed yet, but it has been confirmed to be a drama, and we can expect some high-voltage scenes.

Bird – TBA

Bird is the upcoming major drama that will be directed and written by Andrea Arnold, featuring a broad ensemble cast. Although the plot and release date are still unknown, several prominent names will bring life to the main characters.

Keoghan will be joined by James Nelson-Joyce, Jasmine Jobson, Rhys Yates, Franz Rogowski and Joanne Matthews. IMDb reported that the actor left the sequel to Gladiator to be able to undertake this film.

The Batman Part II – October 3, 2025

After his brief cameo in The Batman, which was starred by Robert Pattinson as the famous vigilante, rumors of his return for the sequel quickly surfaced, and just a few days ago, it was confirmed that he will be present as the Joker.

Barry will be the villain and will bring to life the iconic character that has been classified as one of the most popular in DC comics. So far, the cast is only confirmed with Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Keoghan himself.

Matt Reeves (Lift, War for the Planet of the Apes and Let Me In) will be directing the film, set to be released on October 3, 2025. The script was developed by Peter Craig, Bill Finger, Bob Kane, Mattson Tomlin and the filmmaker himself.

Amo Saddam – TBA

Amo Saddam will be directed by Johan Renck and follows a soldier who monitors Saddam Hussein before the trial and execution of the Iraqi dictator. It is estimated that this role will be played by the Irish actor.

Currently, the film is in pre-production, and the only cast member announced so far is Keoghan. Darby Kealey took on the task of adapting the script from the book written by Will Bardenwerper.

Crime 101 | TBA

Rumor has it that Barry has added a new film to his to-do list, “Crime 101“, a suspense and action drama directed by Bart Layton, which is still in pre-production.

The Irish actor would be accompanied by two big names: Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo. These three stars will bring the main characters to life, although their names have not yet been confirmed.

The upcoming drama centers on Detective Lou Lubesnick, who is tracking a jewel thief by following the rules of “Crime 101”, a strict set of guidelines for the perfect heist.

Beatles biopic | TBA

Sam Mendes is ensuring that the biopic “Beatles” is carried out correctly, not only by directing the film but also by overseeing the project, which will feature a stellar cast of young and popular actors.

It appears that the Oscar-winning director will helm four installments that tell the story of each member of the world’s most famous band. During a statement, he spoke about each one of them.

“I am honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies”, the filmmaker said in an official statement.

Although there is no exact release date yet, Rolling Stone magazine indicated that they could be arriving sometime in 2027. The outlet also reported that each film will present an individual perspective before their paths cross, portraying the entire process of the ensemble.
