In February last year, it was confirmed that Amazon MGM had secured full creative control over the franchise, giving the streaming giant a significant role in shaping the future of 007. Recent reports from Showbiz 411 have added fuel to the fire, stating that Elordi has already had formal meetings with both the producers and Villeneuve to discuss the role.

So far, there has been no indication that Villeneuve objects to Elordi, though the ultimate decision on the next Bond actor is not expected until mid-2026. This potential choice stands in contrast to reports from Deadline, which claimed Amazon was looking for an unknown British actor to fill the role.
Elordi’s recent work shows both his range and rising status in Hollywood. In 2024, he appeared in Paul Schraader’s “Oh, Canada,” portraying the younger version of Richard Gere’s character in a drama about reflection and memory.
