The tone is playful but coordinated, suggesting more than a casual catch up between old colleagues. One of the captions confirms that “an announcement is coming.”
For longtime fans, that phrase carries weight. The 2002 series, created by Joss Whedon, was canceled by Fox after just 11 episodes aired, despite strong DVD sales and a fervent grassroots following.
