American Idol is back with its 22nd season, and there is less and less time left to find out who has been selected to join the 2024 competition, where Katy Perry will be a judge alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
The singer will occupy the chair for the last time, as she announced that she is ready to step away from the singing reality show to focus on other projects, such as her music career and “traveling the world”.
The premiere will take place on Sunday, February 18, so there are only a few days left before we can consider a new edition officially started, hosted once again by Ryan Seacrest. Here, check out who the mentors will be…
Guides for American Idol 2024: Who will be the mentors?
Those chosen to serve as mentors for the Top 24 at Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii on American Idol are Grammy winners Tori Kelly and Jelly Roll. The stars are new additions to the 22nd season, according to Parade and ABC.
The official account of the reality show confirmed the additions by posting several images of the singers. The first one featured Tori Kelly, where they wrote, “From IDOL hopeful to IDOL mentor! Sunshine ray @torikelly is at @disneyaulani to help our rising stars light up the stage!”.
Jelly Roll won’t be making his debut on the show, as during the last season, he performed with contestants Oliver Steele and Lainey Wilson during the finale. Now, he will return as a guide for the participants. Idol’s post describes:
“Back on IDOL and ready to INSPIRE! Rising star @jellyroll615 is here to pump up our hopefuls and send all the vibes at @disneyaulani!”. Tune in to the episodes starting on Sunday, February 18, on ABC.
