Lucas Bravo, best known for his role as Gabriel in Emily in Paris is stepping into a new realm with his first leading role in an action thriller. After making a name for himself in romantic comedies, Bravo is taking on a completely different challenge with Freedom (“Libre”).
Bravo is coming fresh from the fourth season of the Netflix’s series, which will return with a second part in September, as well as his supporting role in the comedy “Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris.” However, the actor is ready to showcase another side of himself in this action thriller.
Actually, the actor spoke with Variety about wanting to explore other types of characters, especially “bad” guys. And “Freedom” will be his first lead role in a film, and definitely it won’t be a “guy next door” as Gabriel. Here’s what to know about this Prime Video‘s thriller.
Who is in the cast of “Freedom”?
The film features strong cast led by Bravo as Bruno Sulak. Yvan Attal stars as George Moréas, the determined police commissioner pursuing Sulak, while newcomer Léa Luce Busato plays Annie, Sulak’s lover. The cast also includes Rasha Bukvic, Steve Tientcheu, David Murgia, Léo Chalié, and Slimane Dazi.
What is “Freedom” about?
The film follows the life of Bruno Sulak, a charismatic French gangster who gained notoriety in the late 1970s and early 1980s for his non-violent heists. The film chronicles his daring criminal exploits, multiple prison escapes, and the intense chase led by police commissioner George Moréas. It will also explore Sulak’s relationship with Annie, who supports him through his quest for freedom.
When is “Freedom” coming out?
The film will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on November 1, 2024. The film will be available to audiences in over 240 countries, including the United States.
Who is directing and writing “Freedom”?
Mélanie Laurent directs “Freedom,” her second project with Prime Video after “The Mad Women’s Ball.” The screenplay is penned by Chris Deslandes, who also collaborated with Laurent on her previous film.
The film will also mark Bravo’s second collaboration with Laurent after “The Balconettes,” which premiered at Cannes this year.
