“The Fast and the Furious” will screen in a restored version during a midnight slot at the Grand Théâtre Lumière, with cast members Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster expected to attend. The production, directed by Rob Cohen, is part of a broader lineup that highlights both widely recognized titles and lesser-known works from across decades of film history.
Originally released in 2001, “The Fast and the Furious” centers on an undercover police officer who infiltrates a street racing crew in Los Angeles while investigating a string of hijackings. Starring Paul Walker alongside Diesel, Rodriguez and Brewster, the picture marked a turning point for its principal cast and launched a long-running franchise that has since expanded across multiple sequels and formats.
