After seven years since the release of Logan, one of the iconic figures from the film is returning for “Wolverine & Deadpool“. This is Dafne Keen, who portrayed Laura in the first solo film of the character after the X-Men.
The British actress has gained recognition for her talent and versatility in both film and television. She is the daughter of film director and producer Will Keen (His Dark Materials) and actress María Fernández Ache (Lost in Karastan).
The news of her return in the Marvel trilogy, which will be carried out by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, was confirmed following the release of its new teaser, along with some images shared by the studio responsible.
How old was Dafne Keen in Logan and now?
Dafne Keen played a significant role in the movie Logan, and she worked closely with the incredible Hugh Jackman, who brought Wolverine to life throughout the franchise, being the only actor to have taken on this role for years.
The actress who portrayed Laura, also known as X-23, was only 11 years old when she took on the character, a young mutant with abilities similar to Logan’s, including superhuman strength, agility and retractable claws.
Laura is a mutant child created in a laboratory as part of an experiment to clone and enhance Wolverine’s abilities. She is one of the last survivors of a program that experimented with mutants to create a new generation of weapons.
Now, the star is back in the franchise at 19 years old. In an interview with EW, she talked about her involvement in Deadpool & Wolverine, which comes nearly seven years after her first appearance. She said:
“I was a bit freaked out. I was like, ‘I will have forgotten how to play her. She’s not in me anymore.’ As soon as they said, ‘Rolling!’ I really felt like we were back doing Logan. It was like eight years hadn’t passed“.
