After a long wait, “We Were the Lucky Ones” finally had its big premiere on Hulu last week, and slowly the drama has been climbing within the Top 10 to become the second most-watched on the platform.
The historical TV show features two of Hollywood’s most well-known and talented stars as leads: Logan Lerman and Joey King. The actors bring to life the couple Addy and Halina Kurc.
Created by Erica Lipez, the series is based on real life experiences, and the story follows a Jewish family during the time of World War II, who were separated but are determined to find each other again.
We Were the Lucky Ones reaches No. 6 series on Hulu
We Were the Lucky Ones with Joey King and Logan Lerman is still releasing episodes of its first season, which has become a trend on Hulu not only worldwide but also in the United States right now.
Within just a few days of being added to the catalog, the series has positioned itself as the sixth most-watched on both Top lists. According to Flix Patrol, it has also surpassed “The Good Doctor”.
The story follows a Jewish family determined to survive and reunite after being separated during World War II. Each episode is inspired by an adaptation of the book of the same name by Georgia Hunter.
The first season consists of a total of eight episodes, which have not all been released yet (with the finale set for May 2). It depicts the Kurc family of siblings, who are striving to survive the Holocaust.
The events of the novel are representations of the author’s family experiences, which have been elaborated in more detail in the book. It was published on February 14, 2017, as historical fiction.
