Sydney Sweeney has experienced a notable rise in the entertainment industry in recent years, especially after bringing Cassie to life in Euphoria for two seasons. Thanks to her on-screen talent, she has become the actress of the moment.

Although she began her acting career with small roles in TV shows and films, making her debut in 2009 with the television series Criminal Minds, she is now considered one of the best young stars of her generation.

Appearing to never take a break, The White Lotus actress has already been cast in several well-known projects, where she will venture into various new genres for her, including horror. Here, check out all her upcoming titles…

What projects will Sydney Sweeney be working on?

Euphoria Season 3 | 2025 – 2026

Without a doubt, the third season of Euphoria is one of the actress’s most anticipated projects and, so far, the only upcoming series release on her schedule. The show not only turned her into a star in 2019 for her role as Cassie Howard but also propelled her career forward dramatically.

It is scheduled that both Sydney and Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Zendaya, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow will be back for a new installment, expected to arrive at some point in 2025. The new episodes were delayed by almost a year due to the writers’ and actors’ strike that took place during 2023.

Echo Valley

During 2023, it was confirmed that the actress will star in Echo Valley in the role of Claire, the thriller that will be packed with top-tier stars, labeled as significant icons in the industry. Sydney will share the screen with Julianne Moore, Domhnall Gleeson and Rebecca Creskoff, among others.

The film is an exclusive production for Apple TV+, and not much is known yet, apart from some of the cast, those behind the scenes, and the general premise. Michael Pearce will lead the project as the director, with a screenplay by Brad Ingelsby (who also serves as a producer alongside Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss and Kevin J. Walsh).

The story will portray how far a father would go to protect his son. Moore will portray Kate, a woman in the midst of a crisis triggered by a personal tragedy, training horses on a remote farm. Her life takes a terrible turn when her daughter appears in a horrifying state, covered in someone else’s blood.

Barbarella

The 26-year-old actress will be the one to replace Jane Fonda in the upcoming new version of Barbarella, the classic science fiction and adventure film released in 1968. The story is based on the French comic of the same name created by Jean-Claude Forest.

In its time, the classic was known for its psychedelic style and campy approach, typical of the era. Therefore, it is expected that the new film will remain faithful to its style and narrative. According to Daniel Richtman, director Edgar Wright is reportedly in advanced talks to helm the project.

While the project is still in development, it is believed that Sydney will not only star in the story but also serve as a producer. The plot would follow a space agent in a distant future. She is sent on a mission to find scientist Durand Durand, whose positronic weapon could pose a threat to peace in the galaxy.

Eden

Eden can be considered the most A-list stars project in her repertoire to date. The actress has been chosen to be one of the protagonists in the film directed by Ron Howard (Arrested Development, Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind) and written by Noah Pink (Genius and Tetris).

The story follows a group of people driven by a deep desire for change; to turn their backs on society, they leave everything behind and set their future in the harsh landscape of the Galápagos, according to IMDb.

The star will not be the only talented member of the cast; she will be accompanied by figures such as Vanessa Kirby, Ana de Armas, Jude Law, Daniel Brühl, Richard Roxburgh, Toby Wallace, Tim Ross, Felix Kammerer, Nicholas Denton and more.

The Caretaker

Sweeny has been chosen to star in The Caretaker, the upcoming thriller by Marcus Kliewer for Universal. The actress will not only bring one of the main characters to life but will also produce alongside Platinum Dunes.

According to Deadline, the drama tells the story of a young woman who accepts a caregiver job on Craigslist and quickly discovers that her responsibilities involve much greater (and more dangerous) risks than she ever imagined.

It is still unknown when filming will begin, as the project is still in development. However, details have been revealed such as Michael Bay and Brad Fuller also producing through their company.

The Players Table

After several years of waiting, Sydney confirmed that the series The Player’s Table with Halsey is still in progress. The upcoming TV show based on the book They Wish They Were Us has not yet begun filming but is one of the most anticipated.

The actress is a close friend of the singer of “Without You”, and the title will mark the second project they collaborate on, following Americana. Both have been selected to star in the first season episodes.

Despite being announced in 2020 and having HBO as its home, there haven’t been many news or details revealed… until now, when Sweeney spoke with Collider and confessed what’s happening with the production. She said:

“I think there’s a lot of different themes and characters that will play into our generation and I think that there’s going to be the mystery, the thrills. I also love a good, like soapy drama. So I think people will want to eat it up”.

The series will follow Jill Newman, a member of a secret society, as she gets entangled in a murder mystery. The search for the truth leads her to question the guilt of the person convicted.

The Registration

Apparently, thrillers have been Sydney Sweeney’s favorite productions, and in recent months she has added one more to the list of her upcoming movies. This time, it’s The Registration, the adaptation of Madison Lawson‘s book.

Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski are the ones in charge of writing the screenplay. They previously worked together on The Night House and were praised for their incredible work within the drama.

Not much is known about the film itself yet, except that Sony Pictures will be in charge of bringing it to life. La Cosa Cine, the Spanish-speaking entertainment medium, revealed the official synopsis and what the plot will be about:

“Imagine it’s legal to commit a murder in your lifetime, if you register the victim and accomplish the murder within fourteen days. So, when Lynell Mize lines up to register the man who abused her as a child, she’s surprised to hear that a stranger has registered her to be killed. Why would someone who doesn’t know her waste their only legal murder on her? Desperate to survive the next two weeks, she must figure out who wants to kill her and why.

It’s easier said than done, as Lynell soon discovers that several strangers have used their Registration on her. Along the way, she reconnects with her estranged husband, who is determined to unearth a past Lynell prefers to keep buried. With only a few days left to live, Lynell is determined to uncover the truth and survive a fate she hasn’t chosen“.

Christy Martin’s biopic

She’s getting ready to play the groundbreaking boxer Christy Martin in a new biopic that’s expected to attract attention at the Cannes market, where Black Bear will be presenting it.

Directed by Australian filmmaker David Michôd, known for movies like Animal Kingdom and The King, this untitled project will tell the true story of Martin’s rise to become America’s most famous female boxer in the 1990s.

The Housemaid

Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried have been cast as the first stars to headline “The Housemaid“, a new thriller directed by Paul Feig for Lionsgate. The stars will bring Millie and Nina to life.

The script will be developed by Rebecca Sonnenshine but will be based on the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden. Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures will produce, while both actresses will serve as executive producers.

According to Deadline, the story follows a struggling woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina and Andrew, an upscale, wealthy couple. She soon learns that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.

Scandalous

Scandalous” will mark Colman Domingo‘s directorial debut and will be produced by Miramax. The talented actress was one of the first to join the cast in the role of Kim Novak, alongside David Jonsson, who will play Davis Jr.

The biographical drama will follow the clandestine love story between movie star Kim Novak and singer, dancer, and film star Sammy Davis Jr. in 1957. More stars are expected to join in the coming weeks!
