The 2024 Oscars took place on Sunday, March 10, and all the celebrities brought their A-game to the red carpet. As always, some looks were a hit while others missed the mark, but there was plenty of glamour at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

This year, one of the standout stars of the awards season was Margot Robbie, who, alongside her stylist Andrew Mukamal, brought to life many iconic Barbie looks. Another celebrity who has become revered for her style is Zendaya, collaborating with her long-time stylist Law Roach.

Bright gowns, from sequins to diamonds, seemed to be the trend this year. Meanwhile, the men, who often opt for the safe choice of the black tuxedo, also showcased moments of color and innovative silhouettes. Here are the best and worst looks from the 2024 Oscars red carpet.

Oscar Awards Dress Code: What You Need to Know

The dress code for the Oscars is deemed formal or black-tie, implying that men should attire themselves in tuxedos or suits, while women are expected to don formal gowns. However, there have always been some “rebels” when it comes to the choices of some celebrities, such as Kristen Stewart’s shorts at the 2022 Oscars.

Worst Dressed at the Oscars 2024: Fashion Faux Pas

While fashion is subjective, there were some stars that kind of dissapoint with their choices for the red carpet. For example, John Krasinski and Dwayne Johnson’s suits weren’t well tailored, and those colors didn’t work out (even when we love the effort).

Meanwhile, Andrea Riseborough opted for a Loewe’s gown straight from the runway. And, while it’s not ugly, the dress looked quite simple for the Oscars red carpet. Also, Ariana Grande’s Glinda’s inspired-look wasn’t quite what we expected.
