The Olympic Games are drawing to a close, and they have undoubtedly delivered exceptional sports entertainment. Each discipline had its highlights, making this edition of the world’s most important sporting event truly memorable.
As always, celebrities were heavily involved, giving us plenty to talk about. From Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s feud to Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo making her appearances in “Wicked” fashion, the buzz has been constant.
Among the notable figures, Snoop Dogg has been particularly memorable. Initially attending the Olympics as a correspondent, he has become a central figure and is now set to perform at the Closing Ceremony.
Snoop Dogg’s expected earning for the 2024 Olympics Closing Event
The Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games left no one indifferent, raising high expectations for the Closing Ceremony performance. For this occasion, the artistic director Thomas Jolly has assembled three A-list stars: Billie Eilish, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Snoop Dogg.
When it was first announced that Snoop Dogg would be a torchbearer, it was clear the producers would go to great lengths to keep him involved throughout the Games. As planned, he will perform some of his iconic tracks on August 11.
Given that, according to Celebrity Talent International, Snoop Dogg charges at least $1.5 million per performance, it’s likely he will receive around $2 million—similar to what Celine Dion and Lady Gaga are reported to have earned for their involvement in the first spectacle, according to TMZ.
However, it’s worth noting that such high-profile events sometimes do not pay performers, considering the exposure and prestige of performing for a global audience is seen as compensation in itself. This was the case with Snoop Dogg’s Super Bowl performance, for which he reportedly did not receive a fee. Therefore, whether he will receive a substantial payment or nothing at all will depend on the producers’ decisions.
