Ariana Grande is undoubtedly experiencing one of the most important years of her career in 2024. Not only has she achieved great success with the release of her seventh studio album, “Eternal Sunshine,” but she’s also starring as Glinda Upland in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of “Wicked,” poised to be a hit for the ages!
While Grande has previously worked in musical theater adaptations, such as the 2016 television special of “Hairspray!,” her role as Glinda the Good is set to elevate her stardom to new heights, as it’s quite an iconic character in the history of entertainment.
Although the film won’t hit theaters until November 22, the singer is already participating in promotional activities alongside her co-star Cynthia Erivo, sparking excitement for the release. In a recent Vanity Fair interview, she addressed long-standing rumors of plastic surgery that have followed her for years. Here’s what she had to say!
Ariana Grande confronts plastic surgery allegations
During Grande and Erivo’s lie detector test with Vanity Fair, both stars were asked deep questions, some of which touched on the rumors and gossip they’ve faced since rising to fame. For Ariana, one of the topics was the persistent plastic surgery speculation.
She was directly asked if she had undergone any procedures, such as a nose job, body enhancements, or a fox-eye lift. Grande denied all of them, and the lie detector operator confirmed she was being truthful. With a playful response, the actress exclaimed, “This is the best day of my life. Take that, you YouTube people!”, seemingly addressing the content creators who criticized her on the platform.
However, Grande shared that she had previously used fillers and Botox in various areas of her face but stopped four years ago. Offering her perspective on cosmetic enhancements, she said, “Im in full support of all people who do these things. Whatever makes women, men, and non-gender conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed. Why do we care?”
In April 2023, the artist had already addressed comments about her appearance in a video posted to social media. She explained that the body people considered her “healthiest” was actually from a time when she was at her lowest, dealing with a poor diet, antidepressants, and an overall difficult period in her life. Since then, Grande has become more outspoken about health and body image, continuing to tackle these subjects head-on with honesty and grace.
